Red is a recurring minor character in the TV series. He is a red-furred Efrafan soldier who works for General Woundwort.
He has been seen on Wide Patrols with Vervain, Campion, Moss, Gorse, Thistle, an unnamed brown buck, and an unnamed gray buck.
Personality
Red is a silent and loyal buck. He is shown to respect Vervain, Campion, and all other captains of the marks.
TV series
Season 1
"Strawberry Fayre"
Red is seen on Campion and Vervain's wide patrol. Later, he is seen chasing Hawkbit over a fence, but he trips before he can capture the latter.
"The Shadow of Efrafa"
Red is seen in the crowd while Hazel and Fiver ask General Woundwort about peace and is present later during their attempted execution.
"Escape from Efrafa"
Red is seen standing sentry at Efrafa. When Vervain grabs and asks him if there has been any sign of Kehaar, he says no, and is let go.
"Lost"
Red is among those attempting to find Bigwig on a Wide Patrol with Captains Campion and Vervain.
"Friend and Enemy"
Red appears on a patrol at the start of the episode. He watches Vervain attacking a weak patrol member. When Captain Campion encourages the patrol to keep moving, they follow him. When the Wide Patrol goes to a pond, Campion lets them all have a break and drink water despite Vervain's objections. Later, Red joins Vervain, Campion, Moss, and an unnamed gray buck in searching for flayrah before a hawk strikes, injuring Campion.
"Kidnapped"
Red is seen on Campion's Wide Patrol, but then Kehaar attacks and the bird knocks both He and a gray buck down. Later, he is seen with Vervain's ambush patrol and ambushes Campion, Hazel, Bigwig, and Fiver. While chasing them, he falls into a river.
Season 2
"Prisoner of Efrafa"
Red is one of the Efrafan Owsla present at the prisoner exchange. Once Hazel springs the ambush to rescue Pipkin, he is seen falling into a ditch trap.
"The Stand"
When two slaves try to escape, Red notices the two escaping and sounds the alarm. He is later part of the army Woundwort takes to attack Redstone. When he arrives with the army at Cowslip's warren, he wanders into a bush and screams, meaning he most probably got caught in a snare. However, he is seen in later episodes, so he may have only been startled by finding a snare but not tripping into it.
"The Great Game"
Red is seen with Moss stopping Vervain from attacking Campion.
"The Homecoming"
Red follows Woundwort and his Owsla for the battle in the caverns. He is hit by a wave of water after Hazel and Fiver remove a stick which was keeping a rock trap stable, sending him and the other Efrafans flying out of the caverns before they all go back in to attack once more.
Season 3
"The Last Battle"
Red is seen trying to escape the collapsing caverns and later trying to get the water off of himself. Later, he is left homeless after the battle of Efrafa and is never shown after that, leaving his fate unknown. He may have died in the battle, ran off into the woods, or joined Moss.

- His voice actor was never credited despite having speaking roles.
- His name is fan speculation; he is never called "Red" in the show.
