―Violet regarding the forest

Violet is a doe who came from Sandleford Warren with Hazel, Fiver, Bigwig, and the other rabbits. She only appears in the film.
Death and legacy
Violet's death.
Violet is frightened while traversing the wood, though she survives to cross the River Enborne. However, she is killed by a hawk while the other rabbits take shelter in a beanfield. She emerges from under the cover of the beanfield to eat, but is swiftly taken by a hawk. Fiver is the only one to witness the incident. Her death is not shown graphically, as the screen blacks out when the hawk strikes. She is the only hlessi in the group that never reaches Watership Down.
She was the only doe to evade the Owsla with Hazel, so her death is a serious blow for any hopes of a future life. Upon arriving at Watership Down, Hazel soon begins to consider how to find does for the warren, since the bucks will otherwise die off alone.
